Verdiktum — Refunds & Right of Withdrawal

This covers paid digital services (subscriptions) and forms part of the Terms of Service. It reflects EU Directives 2011/83/EU and 2019/770 and the Polish Consumer Rights Act.
1. Right of withdrawal (Consumers)
A Consumer (and an equivalent trader) generally has the right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days without giving a reason.
2. Digital content — consent to immediate performance
Verdiktum supplies digital content not on a tangible medium. If, at purchase, the Consumer:
- expressly requests that performance begin before the 14-day period ends, and
- acknowledges that they will thereby lose the right of withdrawal once the service is fully performed,
the right of withdrawal expires upon full performance. For continuous services (subscriptions), if the Consumer withdraws within the 14 days, they pay proportionally for the part performed up to withdrawal.
Technical requirement: the purchase flow must collect this express consent (checkbox) and record it.
3. How to withdraw
Send a withdrawal statement to contact@verdiktum.com within 14 days of contract conclusion (template in section 7). Refunds are made within 14 days using the same payment method.
4. Cancelling a subscription
You can cancel anytime in your Account. Cancellation stops future renewals; access continues until the end of the paid period. We generally do not refund the current, started billing period (except under sections 1–2 and for non-conforming service).
5. Trial
If you used a free trial and did not cancel before it ended, the subscription becomes paid. We notify you before the trial ends.
6. Points and the "Ask the channel" feature
Points used to pay for AI queries ("Ask the channel") are prepaid digital content supplied immediately. By buying points you expressly request their immediate availability and acknowledge the loss of the right of withdrawal once the points are credited to your Account (Art. 16(m) of Directive 2011/83/EU; consent is collected at purchase). To the fullest extent permitted, points — including bonus points granted with a subscription purchase — are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash. If a single query fails for technical reasons, the points charged are returned in full to your points balance (a points refund, not a cash refund). Unused points are forfeited when an Account is deleted. The above does not affect a Consumer's mandatory rights where the service is non-conforming (section 7).
7. Non-conforming service
If a digital service does not conform to the contract, Consumers have statutory remedies (bringing it into conformity, price reduction, or termination). Complaints: contact@verdiktum.com, handled within 14 days.
